Midlands Meander Education Project

Life Skills

This vital focus area includes lessons in social science, communication, art, drama and cultural diversity.  With recent figures indicating a national average of 28% bullying at schools it is imperative that communication issues be addressed and lessons include thought provoking techniques to promote conflict resolution.  Such lessons are frequently requested by the schools. Human rights, animal welfare, nature based art, exploration of other cultures and religions all lead to a more tolerant society.

The MMEP facilitators are flexible and welcome lesson requests from educators who may struggle with some of these issues and need supportive, creative input.  Xenophobic issues were discussed at the time when xenophobia flared up in the Midlands  in  2015.

Events and activities are also created around special days such as Heritage Day, Literacy Day and World Health Day for added impact.
